If selected at the GS-09 level, the below responsibilities will be performed in a developmental capacity.
Serves as the Traffic Manager for DLA Distribution Puget Sound, planning, directing, and overseeing the Distribution Center's traffic management program.
Provides technical advice and operational feedback to ensure transportation capability established for each system is effective, timely, and responsive.
Conducts traffic studies, researches problem areas, and makes recommendations to leadership to resolve operational challenges.
Collaborates with other centers, government representatives, external agencies, and commercial freight forwarders to resolve problems related to the transportation of material.
Ensures compliance with current transportation related supply, packaging, shipping, and hazardous materials regulations.
Plans work for subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, assigns work based on priorities, and evaluates work performance.
