Position

SomeraRoad is seeking to hire an Associate to join our Asset Management team. We are looking for an entrepreneurial go-getter who is analytical, personable, and comfortable solving complex problems in a fast-paced real estate investment and development environment. A strong candidate will bring excellent technical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to help drive asset-level business plan execution across multiple asset classes and geographies.

This role can be based in either Tampa, FL or Nashville, TN and will work closely with senior members of the Asset Management team to support and, where appropriate, lead key components of business plan execution, including leasing, capital projects, financing, reporting, risk management, and dispositions across office, retail, multifamily, industrial, hospitality, and other real estate investments.

Responsibilities

Asset Management

• Support execution of asset-level business plans across a diversified portfolio, including lease-up, capital improvement, repositioning, financing, and disposition strategies.
• Partner with senior leadership to monitor asset performance, identify risks and opportunities, and help drive value creation initiatives across assigned investments.
• Coordinate with third-party property management, leasing, construction, and other external partners to ensure timely execution of approved strategies.
• Prepare and maintain asset-level financial models, cash flow projections, investment analyses, and valuation materials to support portfolio decisions.
• Assist with leasing strategy, capital project tracking, budget management, and operational initiatives designed to enhance asset performance.

Portfolio Execution

• Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages for internal stakeholders, lenders, and investment partners, with a focus on accuracy, clarity, and actionable insights.
• Work with legal, tax, finance, and accounting teams on project-related documentation, including loan agreements, operating agreements, joint venture materials, and closing deliverables.
• Monitor compliance with loan agreements, insurance requirements, guarantees, at-risk capital, letters of credit, and other risk management obligations.

Team Collaboration

• Coordinate treasury and capital planning matters with the accounting team across the firm and its related investment entities.
• Maintain organized asset management files, reporting calendars, critical date schedules, and other portfolio-level tracking tools.
• Create internal memoranda, presentations, summaries, and recommendations for senior management and investment committee discussions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with acquisitions, development, accounting, legal, and operations teams to ensure alignment on asset strategy and execution priorities.
• Take ownership of ad hoc analyses, special projects, and operational initiatives that support portfolio performance and team efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; finance, real estate, economics, accounting, or another quantitative area of study preferred.
• 3 – 5 years of commercial real estate experience, preferably within asset management, acquisitions, development, capital markets, or investment management.
• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, valuation analysis, memorandum writing, and presentation preparation using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Argus.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information, identify key drivers of performance, and communicate conclusions clearly.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with internal teams, external partners, lenders, brokers, legal counsel, and operating partners.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, positive attitude, hard work ethic, and willingness to take ownership in a dynamic, high-growth platform.
